When we return to school it will be week: A

Gosford Hill School Sixth Form is an academic and ambitious learning environment where all students are encouraged to reach their full potential. We know that the most successful students are those that feel happy and supported which allows them to develop an interest in, and passion for, their subjects. In partnership with each other we assist young people in becoming responsible and successful members of society.
We have a broad range of courses on offer to our students which are well planned and delivered. Strong academic teaching with an individual provision for students has led to excellent A Level results over the past few years. We are incredibly proud of our students’ results and what they have achieved. In 2023, the students’ resilience and ambition resulted in some outstanding results, with a fifth of grades at A*-A and 48% of grades at A*-B.
We recognise that the employment marketplace is highly competitive. All students are supported with making post-18 choices whether they plan to study at university, take on an apprenticeship or move into the world of work. We have high success every year with each student leaving school with a clear pathway for their future. We have a strong record of those aspiring to the Russell Group Universities including Oxford & Cambridge and those wanting to study Medicine or Veterinary Medicine. In 2023, University destinations included Law at Warwick University and Economics and Politics at University of Exeter.
Gosford Hill School Sixth Form students have their own identity, but are also an integral part of the whole school community; they have a key role as ambassadors, lead learners, mentors, coaches and role models for younger students. We recognise the value that both universities and potential employers place on interpersonal and transferable skills, so we constantly look for ways to enhance these. Being part of the whole school community gives students opportunities for their own personal development.

Our Peer Active Listener scheme (PALs) is extremely popular as it offers students the opportunity to train with our fully qualified counsellor to support other younger students, helping them to stay emotionally healthy and safe, by offering a listening ear.
Personal development is supported in our Enrichment programme where all students participate in either the GHS Enterprise Scheme or the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Students are also offered the opportunity to complete the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Each pathway offers students the chance to evidence key skills such as project management, team building, communication and resilience.
We pride ourselves on the pastoral support we give to our Sixth Form. The Sixth Form team supports students’ personal wellbeing and mental health as well as giving academic support where we challenge students to strive for the best.
Life in our Sixth Form is both challenging and enjoyable. At Gosford Hill Sixth Form we equip our students with the skills needed to succeed for a bright and prosperous future.
Should you need any further support or would like to visit the school then please do not hesitate to contact us.
